| Ortho Tri Cyclen lo - question |
[Jan. 8th, 2010|04:32 pm] |
I've been taking Ortho tri cyclen lo for about four years now, and it's never caused me much weight gain.
However, I was put on anti-depressants about six months ago, and have gained around 15 pounds from that, putting me close to 140-145 *face-palm.*
This is the heaviest I've ever been, and I hate it. I'm trying to work it off, but my biggest concern is will my birth control be less effective since I've gained weight?
I've read varying conflicting things about this, so I just wanted some thoughts from you ladies. |

| | Minority - Green Day | ] | The CW has released the official description and stills from episode 12, Unpleasantville, airing January 28th. The stills feature all the usual actors from the TV show with the addition of Malese Jow as Anna and Sean Faris as Ben, the new bartender, in some 50's themed event. I'm assuming it is a school dance, or something.

E1 Music is excited to announce the release of The Avon Barksdale Story- Legends Of The Unwired – in March 2010. This gripping film won Best Docudrama at this year’s NY International Independent Film & Video Festival and reveals the raw truth about death, drugs, and violence in the streets of Baltimore, MD. In The Avon Barksdale Story, the real Nathan Avon “Bodie” Barksdale tells all to actor Wood Harris, who played his on screen character in HBO’s critically acclaimed series The Wire. The Wire was based on the lives of real gangsters. The Avon Barksdale Story is the first to chronicle the actual lives of these real people. Barksdale’s real name, Nathan Avon Barksdale, and his nickname, “Bodie,” were both used in the series as composite characters. Avon Barksdale was The Wire’s first season’s central character. The storyline focused on the Barksdale clan and their ruthless hold on Baltimore’s underworld and the intense efforts of law enforcement to stop them. Barksdale was a real crime figure in Baltimore. Barksdale says he consulted David Simon, the creator of The Wire, during the early filming of the highly successful mini-series. He says, “The Wire was one long commercial for this!” During the drug wars of the ‘80s, long before The Wire’s drug kingpin Avon Barksdale entered the mind of David Simon, a young man (named Nathan Avon “Bodie” Barksdale) was in the belly of one of the most violent neighborhoods on Baltimore’s Westside. The Lexington Terrace Projects was one of the most notorious areas in the city making it the perfect backdrop for HBO’s The Wire. But unlike David Simon, an admitted outsider, this story possesses the intimate detailing which can only come from an insider’s view. The real Barksdale brings the riveting fact-filled account of his world now known as The Avon Barksdale Story – Legends of the Unwired. A must see story for all true fans of The Wire! Source of trailer and press release news
Granted the trailer is a little Smack TV/Killa Season straight to DVD, but Im intruiged to hear from this guy. We knew that all the stories were inspired from Simon's days as a reporter, but It does make you wonder though: Are there more ACTUAL people from the Wire? Is or was there a Stringer Bell? A Jimmy McNulty? An Omar?! How bout a Brother Muzone? And yes I meant The Wire when I said the Greatest Show on TV. Not any other overrated show. You think there's an actual flying telephone box or an off the map island with a group experiment?....

James Cameron: Damon, Gyllenhaal Could’ve Been In ‘Avatar’
LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
The box office behemoth “Avatar” has served as a big break for Sam Worthington, but James Cameron said the Australian actor wasn’t always up for the lead role.
“[Jake Gyllenhaal and Matt Damon] were bandied about,” the director told MTV News. “The studio was interested in having a name, I think really just for the part of it we’re doing right now, which is, ‘How do you sell this movie? What are the handles on this thing that we can sell it to the media somehow or get media attention?’ Well, having a name actor gets you on talk shows and all that sort of thing. So there was some value to that idea, and we explored it.”
However, he decided it was Sam who best personified the character of Sully.
“Ultimately we kept coming back to Sam,” he said. “Sam was the guy who just — he was the guy. Even with the accent and everything. You hear Sam talk and he sounds like Crocodile Dundee — but you hear him in the character and he’s utterly and completely the guy.”
Audiences seem to agree – as previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, “Avatar” recently overtook “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King” as the second-highest grossing film in box office history with $1.14 billion – with no signs of slowing down yet.
And according to Ain’t It Cool News, Sam may get another shot at the world of Pandora. A fan in attendance at a Los Angeles “Avatar” screening and Q&A told the site that James said, “Yes, there’ll be another,” adding that the plan had always been to make a trilogy".
However, a possible “Avatar” sequel isn’t the only project on the director’s plate. According to Variety, James has optioned the rights to the book “The Last Train To Hiroshima: The Survivors Look Back,” which will hit bookstores on January 19. He reportedly met with Tsutomu Yamaguchi, who survived the World War II bombings of both Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in December during a trip to Japan. Yamaguchi, 93, died on Monday.

| Kick-Ass releases a new trailer |
[Jan. 8th, 2010|03:21 pm] |
One of the most anticipated comic-book movies this year -- aside from Iron Man 2 -- is Kick-Ass, the funny, violent and action-packed flick about a teen who decides to become a real-life superhero.
Last year the movie previewed at Comic-Con to an enthusiastic crowd, and it landed a distributor shortly thereafter. I was lucky to see some of that footage, and I can't wait to view the whole thing when it opens April 16.
Today Yahoo posted a new trailer for Kick-Ass, which stars Aaron Johnson, Nicolas Cage, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz.
To see more of what you're in for, here are a few pages from the Marvel comic, written by Mark Millar and illustrated by John Romita Jr.

| Why Cory Matthews, why? |
[Jan. 8th, 2010|04:02 pm] |

Source: Guest of a Guest
Ben Savage, aka Cory Matthews of Boy Meets World, spent New Year's Eve partying it up in Vegas, thereby proving that old proverb, "Make one popular sitcom in your teens and get laid the rest of your life."
Though somewhat off the radar, Ben Savage has been pretty busy since Boy Meets World ended: He went to Stanford, he interned with Arlen Specter, he died in a car accident, and made a guest appearance on "Without A Trace". It's no wonder he needed to let off steam in Vegas!
Savage spent the evening of December 31st at Wasted Space, along with his friend, the somewhat maligned Ben Lyons. While there, he met a group of pretty young things who were impressed enough with his TGIF pedigree and dance moves to spend the entire evening with them (or maybe they just thought he could hook them up with Rider Strong?)
Ben certainly didn't shy away from the camera, nor does he shy away from the numerous girls who seem to be throwing themselves at him. And based on the expressions on his face (and the sheer amount of photos!), he seems to be LOVING the attention.
Maybe it's because he knows that deep down, despite how much we all love Cory Matthews, he doesn't really hold a candle to Kevin Arnold…
